Here’s a Sneak Peek of YouTube’s 2022 Analytics! Robin Zueger, Product Lead of the YouTube Analytics team, gives a quick recap of what their team has done in 2021 and what they will be doing in 2022. He made the announcement via the Creator Insider channel.
In 2021, YouTube Analytics focused on audience insights. Robin highlighted that YouTube enabled comments filters, membership tabs for new and returning viewers, top videos growing your audience, and the Media Kit.
One of YouTube’s 2022 priorities is to break up analytics per content formats such as live streams, regular videos, and Shorts.
- The YouTube Analytics team is currently working on separate tabs that show insights for each video format including how much a creator uploaded, the number of views, and overlap in audiences.
- The team is also working on breaking up revenue analytics into different formats for creators to see how much money they make for each content.
- Lastly, YouTube is currently experimenting on content gaps among popular search terms to help creators expand their audience through trending topics.
Implications for Marketers:
YouTube’s 2022 Analytics can help advertisers and creators broaden their YouTube performance. Marketers should keep an eye on these new analytics as they can greatly help in a brand’s video campaigns strategy.
