Recently, Meta added new ways to create Facebook and Instagram reels. Instagram Reels were launched in 2020 while Facebook Reels came in last February 2022. Initially lasting for 15 seconds, they are now 90-second music clips equipped with creative remixes, editing tools, and templates. Today, Meta is expanding access to Instagram Reels templates.
Instagram started testing the Reels template to a selected number of users last April. After the beta testing, the platform is gradually launching the update on the Reels camera. A “Templates” option will be visible at the bottom of the main creation page. Clicking on the templates option will show a list of trending Reels. Choosing a Reel from the list will direct users to easily create a look-alike Reel.
Implications to Marketers:
Reels templates can inspire marketers to create engaging clips. They can also be a handy tool for brands if they run out of creativity on their ads and campaigns.
