There is more way to go for Instagram Reels. Being the top competitor of TikTok, Instagram continuously finds ways to improve Reels. The platform enabled new Reels editing tools and Reels templates. Meta even launched Facebook Reels.
Expanding Instagram Reels’ length
Today, Matt Navarra, the founder of Geekout, tweets about expanding Instagram Reels’ length to 90-second. In the tweet, he showed an Instagram picture of Jonah Manzano with a Reels timer. The timer now gives 4 options for Reels – 15-second, 30-second, 60-second, and 90-second. So, for now, Instagram users can upload Reels with a maximum length of 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Implications to Marketers:
Expanding the length of Instagram reels to 90-second can help marketers craft brand messaging. With an additional 30-second, it can help them much better to highlight their unique selling proposition.
