Instagram is no longer a photo-sharing app. It is now a photo-and-video-sharing platform. The platform mainly concentrates on improving Reels like enabling creative remixes, editing tools, and templates. But since 82% of Instagram interaction happens through live streams, the platform is testing a new Instagram live producer for desktops.
Instagram’s new live producer tool allows Instagrammers to go live from a desktop via three streaming apps – OBS, Streamlabs, and Streamyard. The integration includes tools such as external microphones, extra cameras, and graphics. It is currently under the testing phase with a selected group of Instagram partners. From one of the three streaming software, an Instagrammer can go live either through a “Practice” or “Public” mode. All the user needs is to enter the stream key or URL to start a live broadcast from the streaming app to Instagram.
Implications to Marketers:
Instagram live producer for desktop can be a new option for marketers to go on a live broadcast. With new creative tools, it can make a live stream more engaging and entertaining.
