Facebook has been experimenting with adding and removing video features and tools. In Messenger group calls, it enabled nugget cheers. It then removed the viewers’ list on Facebook Stories. The platform introduced Reels to all users and integrated Facebook Business Suite with Vimeo. Today, it is removing profile videos on Facebook.
Matt Navarra, a social media expert, shared a tweet about the update. It shows that some Facebook users receive a prompt saying that:
“Profile videos are going away soon. If you don’t replace your video with a photo, on February 7 the cover image of your video will become your new profile picture.”
