Live Shopping is now on Twitter! The microblogging site has recently joined the bandwagon in live streams. After improving video quality, the platform is now set to integrate eCommerce and video ads.
The usage in live Shopping has recently been rising. Instagram enabled scheduling live streams. YouTube launched holiday streams as it celebrated the NY Advertising Week. Twitter’s first live shopping will commence on the 28th of November at 7 PM ET. The 30-minute variety show will feature Jason Derulo, a singer & social media superstar, together with special guests. It will highlight apparel, electronic products, home goods, seasonal decors, etc. from Walmart.
Users can check out shop banners and tabs during the live event. They can toggle back and forth to join the conversation. They can even watch the live stream via the merchant site in the app.
Implications for Marketers:
Live shopping on Twitter is a perfect way to increase engagement rate and sales within the platform. With the power of real-time customer connection, marketers should consider such a feature on their Twitter campaigns.
