Attention, Shorts enthusiasts! You can now import long-form YouTube videos into Shorts. It can be an easier remixing option for the TikTok clone.
Shorts are music clips that can last up to 60-second. Today, creators (only) of long-form YouTube videos can import a part of the clip and turn it into Shorts. A new “Edit into a Short” button now appears under the “Create” tab of video-on-demand (VOD). It allows creators to cut a bite-sized portion of the long-form video and upload it as Shorts. If the clip is less than 60-second, the creator can record extra clips or upload stored clips by hitting the back button. Such a Shorts conversion process includes Shorts editing tools such as filters, text editing, and timeline editing. Converted Shorts link back to the original video for viewers to see the full content. Importing long-form YouTube videos into Shorts is currently available to Android and iOS users.
Implications to Marketers:
With the rising Shorts consumption on YouTube, long-form video conversion into Shorts can be a great way for marketers to highlight feature products and services. It can boost conversion and engagement by giving a fresh look at offerings.
